| Abstract ： | 緒言 PBL(Problem-based learning=問題解決型学習法)とは患者の事例の中から問題を見つけ出し, その問題を手がかりに, 学習を進めていく学習方法で基礎医学と臨床医学を結びつけた統合型学習として位置づけられる1, 2). チュートリアルとは, 少人数(6±α, 通常5～8名)のグループがチューターのもとに自主学習を行うものである. PBLチュートリアル学習法は問題解決型学習法を少人数でチューターと共に行う方法である. これと比較されるのが従来の大教室で行われる講義である. 講義では講師からの知識をストレートに受ける受動的な学習態度や依存的学習法しか身につかなくなる傾向がある. 一方PBLチュートリアルでは学生同士の討論により学習が進行していくので, 能動的な学習態度が身につきやすい. このことは(1)臨床に有用な知識を組み立てること, (2)臨床推論の方法を発展させること, (3)将来の効果的な自習学習の確立, (4)学習への動機づけの推進, (5)協調性の育成など歯学生が将来医療の現場での重要な要因となる3). |

| Abstract ： | Aimed at dental undergraduate students, we carried out orthodontic clinical training using the PBL (problem based learning) tutorial method, which will become a leading style of medical education, to examine the method and its effectiveness. Based on the data of patients claiming malocclusion (open bite), we conducted the PBL tutorial method for a small group of 6-8 students. Two tutors guided the students to solve the problems by themselves, not through lectures. After the training, we sent out a 15-question questionnaire regarding the PBL tutorial training. The results showed that 98% of the students valued the PBL tutorial more highly than the conventional training and lectures. The students set a high value on the effectiveness of the PBL tutorial learning : very good (98%), positively participated in the training (88%), understood well the cause of open bite (98%), understood the treatment for open bite (96%), etc. As for the scope of use of PBL tutorial during orthodontic clinical training, students replied : for everything (4%), more than half (63%), and less than half (16%). Futhermore, 96% of students want to have it in other subjects. This study suggests that the PBL tutorial method, which is usually performed for lower grade students before clinical training, is very effective for orthodontic clinical training as well to enhance students' learning motivation as well as their abilities. |
