Abstract : | [ABSTRACT] Some implant therapy cases require the formation of firm attached gingival before, during or after an operation. This is particularly necessary with the gingival of the maxillary front teeth, which are subject to higher aesthetic requirements. The present study deals with clinical reports on the pedicle connective tissue grafts to the maxilla of 8 cases. The duration of the therapies extended between 4 and 8 month over which time the post-grafting gingival increases were evaluated. Increase in gingival were actually observed in 7 cases. The present study has demonstrated that soft tissue correction is an effective procedure for cases with thin gingival presupposing implant placement and for cases with gingival recession after implanting. In particular it demonstrates that the pedicle flap graft is effective also from the viewpoint of blood supply. |
