Abstract : [Abstract] Wistar strain male rats of 0 to 33 days in age were used. For a time marker, tetracycline was administered at intervals of 7 days. Incremental lines were examined in sections of the lower incisors, decalcified and stained with hematoxylin. They reflect the daily rhythm. Their initial appearance was 15 days after birth. Their cyclic pattern gradually developed and became conspicuous from 20 days in age. This 5 day-period might correspond to the imprinting period of baby ducks.
