| Abstract : | [Abstract] To improve the durability of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) against water, the application of 1,3-bis (methacryloxypropyl) tetramethyl disiloxane (BMPMS) which has a hydrophobic siloxane bond as a new cross-linking agent was studied. The water sorption of the resin containing BMPMS decreased significantly compared with that of PMMA. BMPMS showed a sufficient effect at a small quantity without destroying the unique and useful characters of PMMA. |
