Abstract : | [Abstract] Mannequins are becoming increasingly popular as denture simulation models for clinical training of students at dental colleges and universities. However, there are many problems that have to be solved yet. When creating a denture for the simulation, the accuracy of prosthesis created is affected greatly by the method of impression-taking. Our research team has conducted studies to find impression-taking materials for use with the pseudomucosa in the simulation model, and to find whether there is any difference between an impression taken using a simulation model and an impression taken directly from a patient's teeth when there is a change in treatment posture. In this paper, we report on the result of an examination of four kinds of impression-taking materials and on the effects of impression material separation agents on the surface condition of these impression materials. |
